An Electronics Brand Modernizing for DTC


Overview:

Flood Buzz is a personal alarm device to notify homeowners of when they have a leak in their home. Up until 2022, the business was only sold through Amazon & wholesale channels. The website was non-commerce enabled and non-web optimized.

In 2022, the business expanded into DTC, where I worked with the client to modernize their web experience for digital commerce.

Flood Buzz was looking for a full re-design of brand and digital experiences to modernize their online presence. My role within the redesign was to:

  • Work with client to identify key goals

  • Ideate optimizations, look & feel, and branding

  • Manage site migration from WordPress to Shopify

  • Create design kit and UX/UI guide

  • Identify Business Goals

    Partnered with client to understand their business goals, key demographics, and key use cases for their new web experience.

  • Ideate & Create

    Created updated brand guide & web experience based on client goals. Reviewed with client and partnered on revisions.

  • Implement & Launch

    Post-approvals, implemented & launched Shopify-built website with updated brand look & feel.

Enhancements

  • Re-Platforming for Commerce

    Previous website was not commerce enabled. My work with the client replatformed their website onto Shopify, unlocking enhanced shopping experiences, as well as CRM and increased media capabilities.

  • Modernized Brand

    Updated brand identity enabled more mobile-friendly content, consistent look & feel across customer touch points, and new asset development to be used in marketing.

  • SEO Enabled

    The previous website was largely images uploaded to the site, preventing the website from being crawlable. Replatforming onto Shopify allowed for searchable text and increased relevancy.
